This micro ensemble provides opportunity for a guitarist and pianist to work with an instructor bassist. Develop skills of carrying melody and comping in an exposed and often called for instrumentation. Open to levels 1 and higher but preference will go to matching students of like levels.
Playing jazz in small ensembles also develops confidence, collaboration, spontaneity, anticipation, empathy, creativity, working within structure, leading, following, focusing, quick thinking, memorization, and pattern recognition.
Come join the fun and build your jazz performance skills in a guided rehearsal setting. Work on soloing, accompanying, and playing as a group.
Classes culminate with a session-end performance.
Punctual attendance and desire to learn to play jazz/desire to improve.
Students supply their instrument.
Homework is comprised of playing assignments based on the ensemble music and individual needs.
Ensemble meets 1.5 hours weekly.
This ensemble meets Monday evenings 7:15pm – 8:45pm. Class begins Monday, April 3rd, 2017. Session-end performance is tentatively Friday, June 9th, 2017.
The Ensemble is open to players Level 1 and above, or by audition/approval for the following instruments (only one guitar and piano):

$365 per 10-week session.
Registration and Payments
Registration for this ensemble requires payment in full by the first meeting of a session (unless special arrangements have been made). Seats are filled on a ‘first-come, first-serve’ basis and cannot be assigned unless payment is received. Payments can be made by cash, check, or PayPal options (including credit card).
