Richard Walker studied Japanese Language and Journalism at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After graduating, he worked at several newspapers in Hawaii and Idaho before moving to Tokyo, Japan. There he worked as a game instruction manual writer for Sega, and also as a writer/designer for newsletters and annual reports for one of the largest nonprofits in Japan. Richard later returned to Hawaii where he continued working in newspapers – first as a photographer, and later a page designer/copy editor.
Music has always been a part of his life since starting on the baritone horn in 6th-grade band, later switching to the trombone, and now playing drums. Richard is also a student at Jazz Night School, where he plays in small jazz ensembles as a drummer.
