This ensemble works on music from Brazilian composers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Ivan Lins, Dori Caymmi, Toninho Horta, and others. Emphasis will be on traditional Brazilian style. Vocalists welcome. Open to all instruments. Guided rehearsals with individual attention. Classes culminate with a session-end performance.
The Ensemble is open to players Levels 1-3.
Acoustic piano, drumset, and amp are provided.
Punctual attendance and desire to learn to play jazz/desire to improve.
Students supply their instrument.
Homework is comprised of playing assignments based on the ensemble music and individual needs.
Ensemble meets 1.5 hours weekly.
Registration and Payments
Registration for a small ensemble requires payment in full by the first meeting of a session (unless special arrangements have been made). Seats are filled on a ‘first-come, first-serve’ basis and cannot be assigned unless payment is received. Payments can be made by cash, check, or credit card.
