This class is a continuation of this school year's Jazz Melody Studies class. It builds a melodic improviser’s jazz language and ear through exercises and studies of melodic invention devices: target notes, adjacent and passing tone melodic variations, diatonic and chromatic approach note sets, sequences, rhythmic displacement, etc.
This is a 5 week course, meeting online once a week for 90 minutes. We have extended this session to 10 weeks, so if you'd like to join the full session, be sure to add two seats to your cart. Instructors will live stream via Zoom Video Conferencing at the scheduled meeting times. We appreciate your patience as we are quickly putting together online learning in this time of constant change. We recognize that there will likely be a learning curve with this technology (for both students and staff), and will do our best to provide technical support throughout this process.
