Jason Parker
Jason has been a working musician in Seattle since moving here in 1995. As a trumpet player, he leads his own critically-acclaimed band, The Jason Parker Quartet, who Earshot Jazz referred to as “the next generation of Seattle jazz”. The JPQ has 5 albums to their name, and have toured up and down the West Coast. Jason also regularly plays in groups like Swing It Seattle, Water Babies and guests with others. As a freelancer, Jason has lent his trumpet playing to projects from a diverse selection of artists, from Tom Scott to Devotchka to Carrie Akre. As an educator, Jason has taught for years at places like MoPop (EMP), was the Program Director for The Right Brain Center for the Arts, and is currently the Fine Arts Department Chair at University Prep, where he also leads the award-winning jazz ensembles.
